Journey To The West (sometimes referred to as A New Journey To The West) is a 1994 Japanese TV drama produced by Nippon Television, based off of the 1592 novel written by Wu Cheng'en. The show ran from April to September of that year, with 17 episodes in total. This is not to be confused with the 1996 Hong Kong TV adaptation from TVB Jade. The show stars: Karasawa Toshiaki (Shintaro Kazama in Amazon Prime's Like A Dragon series/Kyogoku Kosuke in The Last Cop) as Son Goku/Sun Wukong/"Monkey" Makise Riho (Matsuoka Tsubame in My Three Sisters/Nishimura Matsu in Ranman) as Genjo Sanzo/ Tang Sanzang/"Tripitaka" Ogura Hisahiro (Kuriyama in Ultraman Z/Wajima Shigeru in Kamen Rider Wizard) as Cho Hakkai/Zhu Bajie/"Pigsy" Emoto Akira (Major Akira Yuki in Godzilla VS SpaceGodzilla/Dr. Akunomiya in Karate-Robo Zaborgar) as Sa Gojo/Sha Wujing/"Sandy" Yanagizawa Shingo (Uncle Ittetsu Shibukawa in Ultraman Orb/Koba Shinji in Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future) as Hakuryuu/Bai Longma/"White Dragon Horse" This torrent contained all 17 episodes that aired. The first episode was released on VHS with episodes 2-17 having to be sourced from off-air recordings. The show has never been released on home media in full. The quality varies but the audio for all is good and the picture quality is as good as one can get from off-air TV recordings. This show was previously thought to be lost. Please enjoy and seed!
